Brothers, welcome back from a summer recess, which I hope was spent with family and friends enjoying the season, which seems to depart as quickly as it, arrived. Many of us spent time at beaches, hiking, camping, picnics, weddings, playing and watching out door sports, baseball games, purchasing homes, home improvements, caring for ones less fortunate, watching the Olympics, in the military and national guard and seeing the happenings in the world.
Summer is the hottest of the four temperate seasons falling between Spring and Autumn. At the summer solstice the days are longest and the nights are shortest, with day-length decreasing as the season progresses after the solstice. The date of the beginning of summer in the northern hemisphere starts on June 21st and in the southern hemisphere the solstice is marked on December 21st.
The hope going into our 2016-2017 calendar year is to bring the light of the East to all of our Brethren combined with great programs. To achieve these goals our opening on time is essential. While many of us work in professions where it’s hard to leave early, I hope that the brothers that can arrive at 5PM to assist with setting up the lodge will do so.
As your newly elected Worshipful Master Edward Sanders
